1. Unpack the root ball and place it in lukewarm water for an hour so that the roots can absorb themselves. Then dig a hole wide enough for the roots of the tree (2x the size of the root ball).
2. Make sure that the grafting site does not go underground. This is the place where the graft and rootstock merge.
3. Fill the hole with about 20 liters of potting soil, with someone else holding the tree upright and moving it gently every now and then so that the roots make good contact with the soil.
4. When the hole is almost full, tamp the soil around the trunk well and fill it in with soil.
5. If necessary, support the trunk with a pole / bamboo stick.
